why should u love or hate USMLE?...
or
what are advantages or disadvantages of usmle?..
...at least as per my view...

hey buddy..first let me say good points of usmle
Learning and earning both.......
1.Once u get a usa-MD...u can work in any part of the world..
2.Your degree will be get respect everywhere..
3.Earning in usa will be state of the art....so u will get one of the best education in the world....
4.During learning ..u will practice..as per the book...u dont have to worry like in nepal or other developing country...(no money in pt-pocket..no investigation ordered by doctor...BUT as here is health insurance...so practice as per the book...DO ur practice as per the academic way...or as per the books recomendation)
5.Even during ur MD u will get 35000-40000$ per year...so even if u save 10-15000$ per year...that will be more than ejough money...(general people get 15-20000$ per year as scholarship for master or phd degree here in usa..so doctor get lot more than others..)..so in 5 years ..u will have more money than whole life time earning in nepal or other developing country..

so finally..earning and learning both is possible in usa

NOW let me point out the disadvantages of usmle
1. Money....u will need more than 10000$ for the whole process...from part 1 to interview call.
2.Time--u will need more than complete 2 years for whole preparation.
3.Endurance--u will need to maintain ur self stamina..and ur confidence throughout the process..throught the whole 2 years...many many times u will get frustated and tensed...so u should get prepared to face it boldly..
4.Loss-In these 2 years..u loose a lot of things....first money (money that u could have earned ), MD in your own country(may be this much of labour can get ur name listed in MD in your country)..and family(this preparation will isolate u from ur family...u need more serious dedication for it..)
5Adjustment--u have to leave all ur family and friends for usa...and u have to try to adjust here in new environment..it gives u a metal stress ...
6.Desired subject---if u wish to study surgery...don't come to usa..this is true for some more subjects...
7.Marks--u need to have more than 90-95-99- percentile...to get ur desired subjects..
8.competition--every day competition is increasing ...so after 2 years there will be much much more competition....(2 weeks back i got letter from Abington-hospital in new-york..that the hospital got 1500 applications for 12 seats...and the application is still increasing ..so u can imagine..how difficult it is to secure ur seats..)
9.Unpredictable...even after getting good marks and spending so much amount of money and time....nothing is certain...u may not get residency/MD..here in usa..u may call the system as a lottery....good marks and good interview increases ur chance of being selected for MD...but the final result is still uncertain...
10.Finally--first look at urself ..and think ..how good student i am?..can i get more that 90-percentile in usmle...if u think u can..go ahead..

Last line----USMLE IS A MEGA LOTTERY...IT NEEDS A LOT OF INVESTMENT IN TERMS OF MONEY AND TIME..&...IF U ARE A WIINER...U ARE ON THE TOP OF WORLD...IF U LOOSE...GOD BLESS U...ha ha

hey dear freinds...my these comments may look like ...as if i am trying to discourage u....but i am not...i just want to u know the real status of usmle...and i want u to be brave and bold and prepared enough for usmle ...so that nothing can distract u...once u start ur journey.
so think twice..thrice..before ur journey...but once u start ur journey...never look behind....

About me...i am still on the path of usmle...and i am not expert in usmle...so all the above mentioned veiws are my personal.....may be u can change my views...if u think so..do leave a comment.
